Sebastopol - Johnson Street Site

Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County would like to take this opportunity to give our SINCERE GRATITUDE to all our dedicated volunteers. We wouldn't be able to build these homes without you!!!

We are pleased to announce the dedication for the Ochoa`s was held on MAy 16, 2009!!

Lot 1 - Youth, Faith, and Family Build
- We are happy to announce that we approaching occupancy date for the Ochoa- Barrigan family. All the interior painting has been one. Doors have been hung and hardware set. All baseboards are up and the kitchen cabinets have been set as well. The tile was set on the kitchen counter tops. The flooring material was donated by Davis Carpets and has been installed. All appliances have also been installed.We have laid the pavers in the driveway, and landscaping is complete. We laid bark mulch in both the front and back yards and planted a few plants and some ground cover in the front yard. We were also able to use some of the bricks that were found through out the build and incorporated them into the landscaping. It turned out really nice. All the fences have been built. We are awaiting final paper work to be complete before the family can move in.

On Lot 2 - our Women Build -
The build team and volunteers are happy to see the progress on the Women build house. We have all the siding up and have built both the front and back porches. All the electical work was done by Charlie O'Neil, a memeber of IBEW local 551. Thanks Charlie!!! The plumbing is now complete, and we have also completed the insulation. The drywall is now complete and thanks again to Clay Teevan for painting the interior of the house with help from our volunteers.

The garden shed is coming along nicely thanks to women build group. After many volunteer hours getting the driveway ready, we have started laying the pavers. All the cabinets have arrived and will be installed shortly.

We will continue to keep you posted of our progress.

Our build schedule is posted on Volunteer Hub site, and we are now building on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Stay tuned for photos of the current status on this project!
