This Committee helps screen applicants for Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County houses. The process includes community outreach, group meetings, application processing, home visits and verification of information on the applications. The committee decides how often to have open application processes and other procedural issues.

This committee is responsible for publicity and media relations and design of affiliate outreach materials, such as brochures, newsletters and visual displays.

| The Family Resource Committee will plan educational programs to assist and support families in their transition to home ownership. The Family Mentor Program will assign mentors to work directly with families, to provide support during this period of transition. Our new Build Site Committee will refine the vision developed by staff and board by defining the affiliate’s focus area and working toward acquiring sites within it. This group: • Identifies potential sites through collaborative research. • Evaluates sites’ availability and appropriateness. • Evaluates sites’ suitability for the affiliate’s basic house plans. • Develops a site acquisition criteria strategy for board approval. • Maintains acquired sites. • Identifies resources needed and advises staff on current and future build requirements • Develops timeline for concurrent buildsCommittee members are chosen for their keen financial sense, knowledge of local real estate trends and construction practices, and an ability to work with the public entities i.e. city/county planning and building departments. The Volunteer Build Site Committee works closely with the Construction committee and the construction coordinator.
